will find the best solution to every

problem that we face today!

Term Limits

Passion for the people and for the politics is vital to a successful candidate.  When we see politics as a job or a career that is when problems begin to happen.  This is why we must ensure that no politicians overstays their effectiveness.  We must put into place effective term limits to keep our minds in Raleigh fresh and that of the people that they represent.

Drug War

I feel that we have gotten the war on drugs all too wrong.  We are prosecuting and persecuting the victims of the drug war.  We, in our attempt to save them are doing nothing but destroy them further, With a criminal record they will never be able to shake.  I call for the controlled decriminalization of drugs along with the legalization of marijuana.  Utilizing the success of the Portuguese model instead of our own failed model here in the United States.

Education

Our teachers are bound to teach for arbitrary tests that are intended to gauge the success of our students.  All the while many have lost the passion and the drive that has driven them to be teachers in the first place.  Our children are not being taught life skills and practical knowledge but rather how to pass tests.  Again we must look to the world let us not reinvent the wheel but find success and adapt that success to the practices here at home.  Looking in the world you find Finland, teachers are allowed to teach the subjects they have been trained to teach.  There are no arbitrary tests to gauge success, but rather how they preform at higher levels.  This coupled with drastically lower administration costs and more teacher pay contribute to a model that functions in the real world for primary and secondary education.  All the while costing the same or less per student than we see currently.
This is Erik Raudsep running for NC House right here in Durham North Carolina for our Neighbors and Citizens for all Republicans Democrats and Libertarians

Civil Liberty

The short answer is, as long as you are not harming or impeding on the liberties of another do as you wish.  However the answer that is needed is, in society today it is far more complicated.  We must stand with groups like Black Lives Matter, or Equality NC, and on and on.  The truth of the matter is that all lives do matter however the problems and the societal implications that are imposed on many groups are vastly different.  This is why these movements are so very vital for the America and North Carolina we live in today.  I want to and have partnered with many of these groups and make sure that the under privileged become equally privileged.  We live in what can be argued as the best nation on earth.  That is not to say that we don’t have problems or easy solutions.  But in my experience the easy solution is usually not the right one regardless.

Business

Yes it is true that I support the rights of businesses.  After all they are absolutely vital to our communities. It is the small business that employs North Carolina.  Nationally 89% of people work for businesses with less than 20 employees.  My own business falls into that category.  These are the Businesses that we must focus on, the small business.  Too long Raleigh has focused on the businesses that are big multi national conglomerates that grab headlines and press.  We must go to the real drivers of our economy.  We must create an environment that allows small business to thrive.   We must create the environment to allow for the development of new business.  After all who knows what will better us and our communities that our neighbors creating the business solutions for all of us.
